TENMON JITEN English

TENMON JITEN English is the English-language entrance to a source-grounded Japanese dictionary of Katakamuna, kotodama, the Kojiki, and Japanese esoteric Buddhist texts. The current English collection contains the complete eighty-entry Katakamuna Uta series.

Japanese authority governs. Each English Uta entry is linked to its published Japanese source entry. Transliteration, literal gloss, and interpretive English are kept as distinct layers so that an explanation does not silently replace the underlying source.

Editorial and evidence policy

The English pages preserve the evidence and certainty boundaries of the Japanese entries. Historical source statements, modern explanatory translation, TENMON structural interpretation, and comparative hypotheses are identified separately. Claims are not strengthened simply because they have been translated.

The eighty Uta translations passed TENMON AI linguistic review and were published with owner authorization. They are not represented as human linguistic review. If an English phrase and the Japanese authority appear to differ, the Japanese entry remains authoritative and the English text should be treated as a reviewed explanatory rendering.

English coverage is released by source and review readiness rather than by automatic translation. The links below identify the principal research areas and clearly lead to Japanese source collections where an accepted English article is not yet available.

How to read an entry

  • Transliteration records the reading form used by the entry.
  • Literal gloss stays close to the lexical and structural units.
  • Interpretive English explains the reading in natural English without expanding the Japanese authority.
  • Evidence notes state what is sourced, interpreted, comparative, or still uncertain.

Current English scope

English coverage beyond the Katakamuna Uta series is released only after source parity, terminology review, claim-strength review, and publication acceptance are complete. Pages that do not yet have an exact English counterpart lead to this hub rather than to a guessed or nonexistent translation.
