Literal Gloss
Bird carries vital energy, rock stabilizes place, wood is joined, and the vessel carries fire-water across. The great food-water principle receives, nourishes, and releases. Blessings of heaven and land are distributed; their divisions establish boundaries, storehouse-gates open and close, and masculine fire and feminine water stand at the great central gate and target.
Interpretive English
Uta 16 gives the formed land operational functions: movement, support, conveyance, nourishment, distribution, boundaries, storage, and a central gate. The paired fire-water language and deity names remain within the Japanese interpretive authority; no external linguistic identity is claimed.
Evidence Boundary
This English edition preserves the Japanese source’s distinction between canonical text, structural observation, TENMON interpretation, comparison, and unverified hypothesis. Sound correspondences are not presented as proof of historical etymology.
